Best Italian Restaurant Minneapolis 2014 - Trattoria Tosca
Tucked away in Linden Hills, a neighborhood brimming with good dining options (Tilia, Harriet Brasserie, and Clancey's Meat & Fish to name a few), Trattoria Tosca has been quietly fostering some of the Twin Cities' best chefs, allowing them to fine-tune their pasta-rolling, sauce-infusing, caper-frying skills before releasing them into the wild to go and do their own thing. But Trattoria Tosca is a total gem in its own right. It's cozy, classic, and really reasonably priced considering the caliber of food they're turning out: pillow-light gnocchi, well-balanced and rich pork sugo, buttery chicken cacciatore, and a simple side of blistered truffled Brussels sprouts. A well-chosen wine list of all sorts of Italian varietals solidifies its status as our favorite Italian spot, somewhere between red sauce-casual and restrained high-end.
