Cuing up the old turntable has truly become all the rage over the past half-dozen years or so. Vinyl is in, which means that so, too, is Treehouse Records, a place that was never really out in the first place. Helmed by the store's ever-passionate founder, Mark Trehaus, the Uptown mainstay has never strayed from its roots: a no-nonsense record-slinger with one of the best selections in Minnesota. It's not a large space, granted, but it houses a perfect mix of new and used music, from indie to folk to jazz, LPs and 45s, with a knowledgeable staff (often local musicians) to help you out.
