Ever since our planetarium in the old Minneapolis Public Library closed, the Twin Cities has been lacking an engaging place to learn about the universe. But for those looking to fill the void, the University of Minnesota's Bell Museum now has you covered. In 2011, the Bell Museum opened the Minnesota Planetarium's ExploraDome, a 14-foot tall, 25-diameter portable window into space. The ExploraDome offers a guided tour through the dark side of the moon, all corners of our galaxy (and beyond), and real pictures taken by the Mars Curiosity rover. The best part is that each show is different, because the audience decides where the tour goes. It's a great place to take your kids, but adults will walk away with plenty of new information as well.
