Sure, it's a bit of a drive to get to Forest Lake Pets if you're coming from Minneapolis or St. Paul, but a trip is well worth the gas. Here you'll find the types of things you would expect from a decent pet store: stuff for cats and dogs (natural food, shampoo, clippers, toys), rodents (from mice to ferrets), and birds. They also have a respectable supply of amphibians and reptiles for sale, including iguanas, bearded dragons, and leopard geckos (they will special-order as well). But what people really come to Forest Lake Pets for is its incredible fish and aquarium selection. Head to the back of the store and prepare to have your mind blown. The shop boasts over 15,000 gallons of aquariums, carrying an insane variety of both freshwater and saltwater creatures. A quick perusal on any given day may reveal baby sting rays, puffer fish, discus in a variety of colors and sizes, coral, eel, and Mexican Turbo snails. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable, regardless of whether you're a beginner just starting to put together a tank or looking for rare and unusual aquatic wildlife to add to your collection.
