The experience of walking into the Midtown Global Market is much like walking into the International Bazaar at the State Fair: It's a cornucopia of bright colors and rich textiles, bustling with people, and everywhere you look there's something delicious to eat. With so many options it can be hard to narrow down where to go for lunch, but luckily in the case of MGM a new stall has arrived on the scene and effectively made that decision a no-brainer. Now you can just walk in and make a beeline for the Left-Handed Cook, where owners Thomas Kim and Kat Melgaard are slinging Korean soul food. Whether it's the endless satisfaction of their 21-spice fried chicken and comforting rice bowls, a melange of tender meat, poached egg, and hot and sour kimchi; or the deliciously complex side dishes like baby Brussels sprouts finished with mint, orange zest, and slivered almonds; or sloppy-good pulled pork and chopped soft-shell crab sandwiches, there's no better midday meal to be had than at the Left-Handed Cook.
