The Lowry had a wonderful happy hour until the owner very sketchily moved it so that it's in the bar only.
Best Happy Hour Minneapolis 2013 - The Lowry
We'll be honest with you: Best Happy Hour is one of the more difficult awards we give out. Almost every single bar in the Twin Cities has some kind of early-evening drink special, and if the goal is simply cheap booze, just about all of them get the job done. But the key to the Lowry's superiority isn't price alone. It has more than 40 beers on tap, ranging from local selections like Summit and Harriet to out-of-town favorites like Lagunitas and Goose Island. You can get a Surly Abrasive — a fantastic but usually spendy double IPA — for $4. And that's on the upper tier of drink prices. Many beers and rail drinks go for only $3; glasses of wine start at $4. The happy hour food list isn't anything to sniff at, either. Among our favorites: oysters, beef sliders, boneless wings, and deviled eggs. But the best part about the Lowry's happy hour is that it happens every day — twice. The first goes from 4 to 7 p.m., the second from 10 p.m. to close.
