Sure, there are buses that get you from Minneapolis to St. Paul and vice versa faster than the 16 route (we're looking at you, 94). But the 16 has character, while still being a timely way to get from one place to another. Starting from the middle of downtown Minneapolis, you can ride by the University of Minnesota, through Midway down University Avenue, and through downtown St. Paul. The route boasts attractions from Cedar-Riverside music venues and the Turf Club to delicious eats all along University Avenue. The 16 also has a rich history as the grandchild of the Minneapolis-St. Paul streetcar line, a tradition that will be transferred to the Central Corridor light rail when service starts in 2014. While it's not clear what will happen to the 16 when the light rail takes over next year, we do know that you should take advantage of this bus route before you miss your chance.
