Jake Rudh is probably one of the most liked guys in the Twin Cities, and he has garnered a name for himself based solely on his music taste and knowledge of its best bygone eras. Before the Current snagged him last summer to showcase his flair for vintage rock, Brit pop, new wave, and dance music on Thursday nights at 10 p.m., Rudh already had an enviable résumé and reputation behind him. It turns out he's as great behind the sound booth as he is the DJ booth. Every week now with his Transmission show (named after his uber-successful club night of the same name) you can hear Jake smoothly navigate his many fans around classic and underrated tunes. We do mean fans, by the way — he's got 5,000 of them on Facebook — but for all the attention, the best thing about Rudh is that he's just being himself.
