Finding a good spot to shoot pool can be a far trickier proposition than it ought to be. For anyone who can't make the trek to one of the many suburban pool halls, finding an open table at a local watering hole is littered with obstacles—from overcrowded bars to expensive tables to those pesky groups of players who refuse to give someone else a shot. Grumpy's in downtown Minneapolis does a fair job of splitting the difference: It almost always has open tables—even during afternoon or late-night happy hour—and plenty of room to practice your power stroke.
