A true neighborhood classic! EVERYTHING tastes good. Nice family run local pub. Pretty much just nice folks frequent the place. No fussy, prentious, self absorbed wanks here! A true hidden gem. Will continue to stop as much as I can, and have for the last 22 years!

Tootie's on Lowry
2706 Lowry Ave. N.
Minneapolis, MN 55411

Sure, lots of neighborhood bars offer a game room with pool tables and shoot-'em-up video games, but how many warn patrons to keep the language clean? Tootie's does, but that's only part of the charm of this North Side institution. It starts with the food—big, thick hamburgers topped in dozens of ways; well seasoned and prepared meat loaf, the kind you wished mom would have made; appetizers that include golden-brown, deep-fried cheese curds; and desserts that feature deep-fried Oreos. Then there are the people. This is still a neighborhood bar, reflecting the down-to-earth, blue-collar roots of the surrounding streets. It's a place for grumbling about taxes or how badly the Vikings are playing while enjoying a brew from Tootie's excellent beer list. Mainly, Tootie's invites you in—for a meal, for a drink, or for a (cleanly spoken) game of pool.
