A lot has been said over the years about the changing "vibe" at Hidden Beach, but it is still the best of the Twin Cities' lakeside hangouts. It may no longer be the hippie bastion it once was, but neither is it your typical neighborhood splashing pond. The beach on Cedar Lake retains a certain counterculture cool. Its regulars are uncommonly friendly and come from all walks of life to beat the sweltering Minnesota heat after a lengthy winter and sloppy spring. Whatever you make of its changing vibe, it's still a sexy beach.
