The store on Grand Avenue has been there for more than 30 years, but the George family has been in the shoe business for over a century. The family of Lebanese immigrants opened their first American shop in North Dakota in 1916, expanding to Minnesota in 1943. The family pride in its history shows in the service: Owner Jerry George and sons Dan and Brian will offer their fixes to shoes and hockey gear with dignified friendliness. The prices are good, the workmanship is excellent, and George's won't promise what it can't deliver—the service is on time and the results are just as they described.
