It's hard not to love the Guthrie for its wonderful stage productions, but it's also a hotspot for sweeping views of the Mississippi River. The cantilevered bridge jutting out toward the river offers views of St. Anthony Falls and the Stone Arch Bridge, either from an indoor ramp off the fourth and fifth floors or an outside observation deck that is sure to put you in a romantic mood. Even if your play is on the main stage, it's well worth taking a trip up to the Dowling Studio on the ninth floor, where the views are from higher up and all the more impressive. Especially when winter temps make it nearly impossible to appreciate the river view outside, the Guthrie provides a luxurious way to enjoy the Mississippi's scenic natural beauty.
