P.O.S.

Readers' Choice: Brother Ali

If the last year has belonged to any Twin Cities artist, it's P.O.S. He has become a household name in indie circles, thanks to the success of his solid sophomore effort on Rhymesayers, 2008's Never Better, and the ridiculous amount of touring that followed in both in the States and abroad. From Paris to Stockholm, Chicago to New York, and back again, Stef Leron's passion for his emotive brand of punked-out rap music was evident onstage and in studio. A headliner at the Paid Dues Festival, Coachella, and Soundset within a few short months, P.O.S. became the undisputed face of Minnesota-bred hip hop. Yet the Doomtree breakout is happy to continue calling the Twin Cities home sweet home: "I love Minneapolis," he said recently. "It's the only place I've ever been where the city makes you prove it, but at the same time it can be the most supportive city in the world."
