Readers' Choice: KARE 11
Twin Cities Public Television is a station that stands to benefit from the digital changeover. In the past, the channel has been notoriously difficult to tune in on televisions without cable. But now each channel comes in with sparkling reception. Some may blithely dismiss PBS and TPT as programming for eggheads and children, but that isn't true. You'll find shows for almost any taste on TPT: programs for foodies, like America's Test Kitchen; shows for gardeners, like Victory Garden; classic Hollywood films on Saturday nights; hard-hitting documentaries like Frontline; and exceptional special series like the recent history of comedy narrated by Amy Sedaris. TPT's programming is so varied that it's worth watching every day, as opposed to other stations whose "Must See TV" is mostly confined to one night.
