Frank Theatre

The thrill of a Frank Theatre show isn't just about exploring a difficult piece of theater through a high-quality production. It's often about exploring parts of the Twin Cities you may have never thought to visit. For example, last year's Puntila and His Hired Man Matti had patrons following handmade signs to the Minneapolis Public Works Yard. These spaces aren't stunts—they fit into the vision that Wendy Knox has built over two decades producing innovative, hard-edged, and absolutely engaging theater in the Twin Cities. Even though the company's latest work, By the Bog of Cats, was at the very easy-to-find Guthrie Theater, you know that the show itself—essentially an Irish version of Medea—definitely wasn't easy or straightforward.
