Best Local Blog - 2009
Of all the blogs the Twin Cities has to offer—and there are a ton of good ones—none is more professionally executed than the music site Culture Bully. Far from your cookie-cutter Wordpress knitting blog, Culture Bully has a slick layout and updates several times a day. It brings you interviews, features, reviews, and songs for download, all hot off the virtual presses. Treading a delicate balance between Twin Cities content and stories of national interest, bloggers Chris DeLine, Erik Thompson, Jon Behm, Josh Keller, and Kyle Myhre bring a well-rounded perspective to the music scene, neither cheerleading for nor hating on local talent, and exploring all genres. It's rare to see a homegrown blog blossom into a genuine local treasure, but Culture Bully has done just that.
I think culture bully is the best. At the drug rehab I work at I am constantly on the computer even during breaks and I find myself returning to this site for updates and the latest news. Thanks culture bully and all the guys that make it up!
word up, Culture Bully deserves the shine, they make other bloggers step their game and has a broader reach than most.
ps.Shout out the glorious Minneapolis Fucking Rocks, Switchblade Comb,Midwest Broadcast & More Cowbell.
Mpls We Go Hard!
It should be pointed out, for journalistic standards and full disclosure, that Culture Bully creator Chris DeLine writes for the City Pages print edition regularly and is a responsible for the round-up over at the Gimme Noise blog. Both of which he does commendably well. The bloggers who will read this already know these things, I just thought I would point it out before Ed Kohler at the Deets did. (Why isn't that dude nominated?)
