The Yuck! Guy

Those who wander about Uptown on foot may have noticed a running theme with the graffiti last summer. Someone's red Yuck! tag was found on sidewalks, tree stumps, concrete dividers, and a slew of other public objects. The tagger is prolific, but what exactly does Yuck! mean? Is it a commentary on the aesthetics of urban areas? Is it a statement against the increasing gentrification and commercialization of Uptown? Or is it just a general exclamation on the malaise of the artist? We may never know.

Hey, I'm a journalism student working on project about graffiti. It's not for publication, if anyone knows some graffiti artists/taggers who would be willing to let me interview them, please let me know! vosle004@umn.edu

Its definitly a Statement of the personality of the artist himself.
