This massive warehouse store, in its 40th year of business in the Twin Cities, lies on the edge of downtown Minneapolis and houses one of the biggest collections of random party paraphernalia you're likely to find—supplies for any kind of bash, from a wedding to a costume ball. But glance up in almost any aisle and you'll find Litin's most impressive collection: its piñatas. Bulls, chile peppers, cowboy boots, sombreros, angel fish, baby carriages, carnival masks, cacti, train engines, guitars, jukeboxes, suns and stars, Oscar statues, parrots, pirate ships, treasure chests, and (of course) Dora the Explorer, all await the sting of your broom handle. If you don't see one you like at first, check back later—the store rotates some of its piñata stock seasonally.
