Normally we would recommend that people stay away from novelty pizza flavors. That said, the penne pesto pizza at Mesa is actually pretty good. But if consuming pizza with penne pasta bits worked into the cheese isn't your thing, Mesa has other less adventurous but still mighty tasty pies, such as pepperoni or cheese. But really, with enormous slices ranging from $2 to $3 apiece, you should try at least one wacky variety. How weird? One pie comes with grilled steak, barbecue sauce, and French fries. Another is topped with black beans, chopped tomatoes, feta cheese, and avocados. And yes, there is actually a mac 'n' cheese pizza. It's not too bad, either. Though all pies are tasty, you might want to do either takeout or delivery; if the tiny pizza shop is busy, there's no way you'll find a place to sit.
