BEST HARDWARE STORE - 2008
Seven Corners Hardware
With spacious big-box hardware stores like Home Depot now the norm, entering the cramped, maze-like space of Seven Corners Hardware might be a bit of a shock. But think of it as an adventure, because like a hardware store in Harry Potter's Diagon Alley would, this place can work magic. This year the store celebrates its 75th year in business, and with its thriving store and online business, it certainly has a lot to celebrate. Need to build some shelves? There's a whole floor's worth of power tools and a back area filled with wood scraps. Need to fix a busted sink? This place has enough pipes and tubing to stretch across the city. Completely intimidated by tools? No problem, the staff is incredibly knowledgeable. Perhaps most impressive, bring in a rusty screw or bolt, and some employee will easily find a replacement amid thousands of plastic bins filled with screws, nuts, and bolts, and they'll probably be able to guess what you were using it for.
