Horrible, horrible, horrible workers at this place! They make you feel like a thief when you go to ask the price of something (that is missing a ticket) , when you have another exactly it, which has a price on it already, and then they will not let you buy it for lack of price (ticket) on it. You can come back the next day and get it when they have a ticket on it (never mind that you live 200 miles NORTH of the cities....), and they will not hold it for you, even if you come back the next day!!!!!! This has happened each time my daughters and I have come down to the cities from Duluth. It invariably always happens when one of us find duplicates of drapes and/or bedding/ slipcovers which we need more than one of.

Unique Thrift Store
This Savers-sized warehouse (and its sister store on Rice Street in St. Paul) has tons more character than that national chain, and far better digging potential than your creepy neighborhood secondhand store. Its for-profit status makes it a little less appealing than, say, the Salvation Army (there's a great one in the North Loop), but there's no arguing with the goods. Unique is a treasure trove of oddball trinkets, surprisingly wearable duds, functioning appliances, and oddball items. One tip: Don't leave without checking out the belt buckles.
