Reed-Sweatt Family Tennis Center

Global warming hasn't progressed to the point where outdoor tennis is a viable option for more than four months a year, so to keep up your stroke, you'll have to play indoors. Reed-Sweatt—the name itself is hot—not only offers climate control, but warm service, too. Amateurs are accepted with the same hospitality as pros, and the prices for most any racquet clubber are pretty reasonable. Members, who pay $70 a year ($85 for a family), can reserve court time up to a week in advance; non-members can call about openings two hours in advance. Both pay a $20 per hour court fee. The courts—open until 11:00 p.m. on most nights—are exceptionally clean and well maintained, with plenty of room. Lessons, league play, and ball machines are also available.
