BEST PLACE TO RENT FOREIGN FILMS

Cinema Revolution

Newly relocated, Cinema Revolution is a movie buff's library—literally, what with the bookshelf holding dozens of books about various filmmakers. If anything, the new digs lend an even more international flavor to a shop that has always prized its imports above all. Foreign titles are arranged by both country and auteur, with three shelves apiece devoted to Francois Truffaut and Jean-Luc Godard. Scarce titles abound, including those directed by world-cinema heavyweights Luis Buñuel, Abbas Kiarostami, Michelangelo Antonioni, Wong Kar-wai, Pier Paolo Pasolini, and Sergei Eisenstein. As in any type of foreign trade, it's best to buy in bulk: A $25 "inner circle" membership allows 10 rentals, while $45 gets you 20.
