BEST MARGARITA Minneapolis 2006 - Boca Chica Restaurante
Margaritas are usually pricey drinks—order one at any restaurant and you can expect to part with enough cash to pay for an entire meal. Which is why it's disappointing when something mediocre, stale, overly sweet or tart, or from a plastic bottle arrives in a salt-rimmed glass. Rest assured, Boca Chica does not have this problem. Made from scratch with triple sec, lemon juice, sugar, and of course, tequila, these margaritas can be ordered either frozen or on the rocks. It's a super-fresh drink that's perfect for airing out any stuffiness from a long day at work. They also serve fancier versions with ingredients like Grand Marnier and Cointreau, though the original is probably the best for your money. If you're feeling adventurous, try the mango and strawberry varieties—frozen drinks that are sort of like daiquiris, but with a tasty sort of sweet-and-sour effect instead of the sugar overkill. Drink on the cheap when they offer $3.50 margaritas (regularly $5.50) from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday (at the bar only)—but be sure to ask your server if it's happy hour yet—order at 3:29 and you get no discount.
