Comments (0) BEST TENNIS COURTS - 2003

As with so many of the Twin Cities' poorly maintained public tennis spots, a number of serpentine half-inch-wide cracks tarnish these two courts, making for some unpredictable hops. So establish a "no do-overs" policy before every match, and enjoy the pulchritudinous setting. Tucked away along the Minnehaha Creek pedestrian and bike path, between a lightly traveled part of Nokomis Avenue and a dead end of 30th Street, these only partially caged courts are about as peaceful and private as public courts come. With only one potential set of neighbors, the odds of some tactless 12-year-old running to get her ball while you're in mid-volley are considerably diminished, and the great view of the creek might make that flubbed drop shot or double-fault less painful.
