Comments (0) BEST TENNIS COURTS - 2002

Bryn Mawr Neighborhood

Nestled in the middle of this 50-acre basin of green space in Minneapolis's Bryn Mawr neighborhood are two tennis courts, ideal for a summer match. Set back from the basketball court and the softball fields, there's enough serenity to concentrate on putting the spin on your serve, powering through those ground strokes, or finessing those volleys. Depending on which end of the court you're on, you'll get expansive views of the park, a glistening glimpse of the downtown Minneapolis skyline, or the hypnotic sight of cars speeding along I-394. If you're very lucky, your game might even capture the interest of some of the neighborhood kids playing in the nearby wading pool or tot lot. Before you know it, you'll have a volunteer corps of ball boys and girls. For those of us who are still trying to tap into our inner Venus Williams, it might be as close to Wimbledon as we'll ever get.
