BEST SPORTING-GOODS STORE - 2002
Joe's Sporting Goods
The Olympics--snappy as they are these days with all those weird California sports like half-pipe and freestyle skiing, and the goateed and ready-for-the-fashion-mag made-for-TV stars--remind us that we prefer our sports without all the glitz and glam and whatnot. We happen to like the old "thrill of victory, agony of defeat" ABC's Wide World of Sports days when there weren't all those high-tech fibers and filament and plastics and designer steroids and endorsement packages. Therefore, for our money, there's nothing more satisfying than Joe's, where sports are sports, and real men and women can pick up a pair of waders and some pretty darned good ski equipment and maybe even a duck call if they feel like it--no ifs, ands, or buts. The good people at Joe's have been at this a long time, and they've seen the trends come and go, and they know what works, by gum. Who needs filament when you can go with flannel? Still, hey, you might be the filament type, and we'd hate to steer you wrong. But that's why God invented the Mall of America. We'll stick to Joe's.
