Stroll past the vendors hawking thrift-store items on the Mainroom floor, as local musicians pluck their acoustic guitars onstage. You'll find that the majority of the females do quite well for themselves. Actual scene: Young woman picks up odd-looking lamp and is immediately accosted by a series of young men. Where did that come from? How much did it cost? Do you think this copy of Bryan Adams's Cuts Like a Knife is worth as much as that lamp? For chrissakes, when will I ever get laid? Our theory: A guy figures that a woman willing to invest in used goods is more likely to take him home after closing time. Either that or boys just like lamps. And if that's the case, then the bar scene be damned: Single women should just start selling light bulbs for a living.
