Yes, we chose a chain. Moreover, yes, when all is said and done and the carnage is there in front of you in all its thrown, dropped, and/or masticated-and-then-thrown-or-dropped glory, you often find yourself wishing you hadn't taken the kids with you in the first place. But you do go out to eat, and sometimes you take your kids--heck, sometimes you even want to. Having beheld plenty of the aforementioned carnage in plenty of local eateries, we like Famous Dave's. For one thing, they're plentiful enough, which means you don't have to drive too far. For another, their food is tasty, and they offer a decent kids' menu, including burgers, chicken strips, and PBJ, along with the expected pint-size barbecue portions. For yet another, there's a bar. (For you, we mean.) And finally, the premises are, by and large, dark inside. Which means no one is likely to take full note of the mess you've left until, well, until after you've left.
