According to local DJ/promoter/store employee Jack Trash, on any given day at Let It Be, you'll find "Joe Smith looking for Doors records, a clubber or raver looking for the newest Armand van Helden record, and an old vinyl junkie sleuthing for something obscure. We have the craziest mix of people looking for the craziest mix of music," he laughs. "Our strength is our staff. Both upstairs and downstairs we have influential people who have been part of various music scenes for years and years." He's right. The store's staff of "music nerds," positioned both upstairs at the counter and downstairs in the dance room, range from local house legend Tony "E-Tones" Larson to KFAI's Chip "Norton Fortune" Tennille, not to mention the owner himself, collector Ryan Cameron. Six days a week Let It Be brings in new records, and with them flock the customers (both newbies and longtimers). It's almost as though they can smell the fresh wax from afar.
