BEST TIMBERWOLVES PLAYER - 2000
Kevin Garnett spent the off-season perfecting his midrange jumper--perhaps the single weak spot in an otherwise flawless offensive arsenal. The work paid off. Garnett's shooting percentage put him in the NBA's top 15 this year, and he now draws double teams whether he is under the basket or at the top of the key. He even averaged a respectable 37 percent from behind the three-point line this year, with no reluctance to venture there. But what's perhaps more telling than what Garnett has added is what the Wolves power forward has managed to hold on to since his rookie season: charm, composure, a tireless work ethic, and a devotion to the idea that teams, not superstars, win games.
