Comments (0) BEST SUNDAY BRUNCH (CLASSIC) - 2000

Mother's Day brunch reservations at this small, handsomely appointed downtown hotel traditionally fill up weeks in advance. What's the big deal, you ask? You'll know as soon as you saunter over to the massive buffet. There's eggs Benedict, eggs Florentine, potatoes of all shapes and levels of crispness, bacon, sausage, a custom-omelet station... But wait, what about the pastries? Surely you'll want to sample the scones, the Danishes, the muffins--not to mention the bunk-bed sized display of desserts. Still standing? There's a carving station groaning under the weight of roast beef, turkey, and ham right out of the oven. And--and!--there are salads, and usually a pasta dish, and salmon, and jumbo shrimp. If you manage to taste everything this kitchen puts out, you might think about reserving one of the suites upstairs, a mere waddle away. Brunch is $21.95 for adults, $11.95 for kids ages six to twelve, and free for the under-five crowd; served 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
