BEST PLACE TO GET YOUR NAILS DONE - 1999
Tame hearts might settle for the subtle French manicure, but why bother? You might as well stay home with a clear-polish-and-cuticle kit watching Ally McBeal and wondering why the phone never rings. This shop is for grown-up girls who won't settle for nails that whisper. These nails are for sophisticated ladies who want their hands to testify. We witnessed one customer walking out with acrylics done up in a paint job better than any you'd see at the Indy 500: midnight-black lacquer, gold comets embossed on the tips, long and tough as garden trowels, blaring out a come-hither like some kind of high-tech ten-speaker stereo. The cost is $20 for a basic acrylic set, $12 for fill-ins, with additional charges for decals and designs. Walk-in only.
