Comments (0) BEST PAPER STORE - 1999

Downtown Minneapolis's impressive Paper Depot might have an edge as far as prices go, but for customer service Paper Source wins by a ream. Manager Joni Wheeler (who seems to always be on hand) will know you by name after your third visit to the store. The staff (who all seem to really, really, really love paper) are eager to give you a quick lesson in how to make your own envelopes, point you in the direction of the best exotic paper for your laser printer, track down the last few packages of your Brockway Pink envelopes, show you possible designs for your name cards or party invitations, and generally do whatever they can to help out. The store carries all the required sundries--ribbons, seals, calligraphy sets, funky wrapping papers, elegant gift items--but paper is the headliner here. Gracing the front walls are racks stuffed with flat sheets of imported, handmade, marbled paper and various vellums that run in price anywhere from one to ten dollars a shot. The back of the store is stacked with rows of envelopes and precut packages in whatever style and color you could wish for--though that lovely pack of five pieces of parchment may set you back eight dollars.
