Comments (0) BEST CLASSICAL RADIO PROGRAM - 1999

Mornings are hard enough without having to listen to a crew of nitwits slander indigent immigrants. Compared with the white noise that clutters most of the bandwidth, Top of the Day host Melissa Ousley sounds like a civilized voice in the radio wilderness. If we absolutely must roll out of bed, we'd rather do it to the strains of Verdi than to another ill-conceived comedy bit, top-ten list, or (God forbid) rundown of "wacky" news items. Combining tasteful music, relevant news, and insightful feature reporting with an elegant and refined delivery, weekdays from 6:00 until 10:00 a.m., Ousley arms her listeners with the knowledge they need to navigate the cold, cruel world beyond the bedroom door.
