Probably best known as the setting for Christian Slater's turn as a waitress stalker in Untamed Heart, Jim's Bakery has been vacant for a few years now. Several factions of the local music community--from the crusty punks in South Minneapolis to the indie rockers at the UM--have thrown around the idea of turning this one-time Nordeast greasy spoon into a music venue for the coffee-drinking set. Great idea, especially since still-emerging venues like Ground Zero and the Terminal Bar are within spitting distance. Here's hoping someone stops talking the talk and starts walking the walk to get this thing going.
