Comments (0) BEST PLACE TO JOG - 1998

This asphalt path curls up to the Mississippi River, stretches uninterrupted for miles, and boasts one of the finest views in Minneapolis. In the summer, the trees that line the boulevard form the sort of lush, green canopies that the Cities' streets used to have before Dutch elm disease struck. Autumn yields a fiery rainbow of color and winter shows off its stark beauty with iced trees and miniature frozen waterfalls cascading down the hillside. The quiet hum of the river provides a tranquil backdrop for the sounds of other runners--the rhythmic beating of feet on pavement, the snatches of conversation, and the steady inhales and exhales of runners' exertions. The path is well-maintained and dogs are leashed and policed for any unwelcome reminders of nature.
