Although it's a crying shame that this store replaced what was once the best out-of-the-way bowling alley in South Minneapolis, Nicollet Ace fills a need in its own way. Sure, you can't knock down the pins and slam down the brews, but you'll literally get more bang for your buck with a pound of nails. There's plenty of parking (amazing, considering its proximity to both Up- and downtown), the store is well stocked, and if you really can't find the polished-brass bathroom sink you're after, the strapping personnel is always ready with a quick referral.
