Next time someone tells you that you can't get fresh seafood in the landlocked Midwest, grab him by the ear, haul him over to Coastal, and point out the daily shipments of salmon, tuna, snapper, grouper, catfish, trout, mussels, clams, oysters, and shrimp--not to mention more unusual (around these parts) creatures such as sushi-grade yellowtail, whole Portuguese sardines, and mahi-mahi, plus rarities like diver-harvested sea scallops. Tell that doubting Thomas most of this bounty was swimming in the ocean yesterday, just like what you'd find at the better fish markets of Boston, San Francisco, and Seattle. Then pick up a fillet of something (ask the folks behind the counter if you're stumped--they're awfully helpful) and make that someone eat his words.
