Best Record Store Day Location

Hymie’s Vintage Records

Many of the purportedly collectable offerings touted each Record Store Day are dubious (to put it kindly), but the parties that local stores have begun organizing in conjunction with the event make for a worthwhile celebration of local community even the most skeptical consumer can enjoy. Participating in Record Store Day for the seventh time last year, Hymie’s spread ten hours of live music out over two stages, featuring the likes of the Blind Shake, Black Market Brass, and Charlie Parr, with food from nearby Peppers & Fries. Parr will be back again this year on April 21, along with Toki Wright, Blaha, and plenty more, for the kind of block party that reimagines the role an old-fashioned brick-and-mortar shop can play in the 21st century.
