Best of
the Twin Cities
Forget spongy slices of bologna and dubious frankfurters. This deli offers a robust selection of locally sourced meats—cured, linked, butchered, or whole—that you can trust and savor. Of course, you want more than the raw steaks and chicken livers. You want a freshly made sandwich you can sink your teeth into while you shop for tonight’s roast. We get it, and Lowry Hill Meats does too: Find a tidy list of sammies that transcends typical deli fare, including pork shoulder on brioche and a sinfully simple radish, butter, and greens sandwich on Filone. On weekends, they do a breakfast sandwich that puts the Egg McMuffin to shame (and has won our praise in Best Of issues past). Don’t forget to sign up for their Meat Club while you’re there; it’s like a CSA for the finest cuts in the city.
