The menu at Dusty’s is dedicated to the simple, straightforward art of sandwichery—no fancy ingredients or eyebrow-raising prices required. This Northeast dive has long churned out the Twin Cities’ most controversially named but universally adored sammy, the Dago, made with Italian pork sausage, cheese, caramelized onions, and sweet peppers. But they’ve also got a mean tuna melt, Reuben, and a variety of burgers. Best of all, they’ve landed firmly on the sandwich side of the hot dog debate, by halving their Polish sausage and serving it on a squishy hamburger bun (a mere $3 at happy hour!). When you want a no-frills sammich with a cold beer (um, every day, please), Dusty’s has the reliable flat top to give it to you.
