Gophers women's hockey team

There’s but one thing Minnesota is better at than any other state: producing hockey players. And there’s no better emblem of our superior manufacturing than the University of Minnesota women’s hockey team. Since winning their first national title in 2000 — the first by any Gophers women’s team — the squad has knocked down six more, making it easily the premier program in the country. This is no small matter, given the mercurial advance in the quality of the women’s game. Though the Gophers fell in the semifinals this year, their record has surpassed not only that of their male counterparts at the U, but any other team in the State of Hockey.
