First Avenue's Halloween Dance Party

It’s not every day you see Futurama’s Bender chatting it up with the ghost twins from The Shining, while onstage, Inspector Gadget laughs nervously near the monster from Stranger Things. Meanwhile, Falco from The Neverending Story is ordering something from a unicorn at the bar. For years, First Avenue’s Halloween dance party has been a delightful, amazing, and weird experience. Thoughtful group costumes (the cast of Archer came together one year), technical masterpieces (the toilet Transformer was mind-blowing), makeup marvels both gross and beautiful (hey there, zombies), and Minnesota in-jokes (Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox almost always show up) are everywhere. What happens when people start getting tipsy? How is the guy in the Gameboy costume going to dance? Will Batman hook up with Prince? This is prime people-watching, and it only happens once a year.
