The members of Kitten Forever were not smitten with the election of Donald “Grab ’Em by the Pussy” Trump. They feel so strongly, in fact, that the feminist punk rockers donated all of their music sales from Black Friday through Inauguration Day to combat what they view as Trump’s “sexism, racism, homophobia, Islamophobia, transphobia, ableism, nationalism, and greed.” The funds were gifted to Reclaim!, a St. Paul nonprofit that provides mental health services to queer and trans youth. Any buyers of 7 Hearts, the scorching blitz of a 2016 album from Kitten Forever, should find themselves sufficiently rallied. And that’s exactly the point, as the Minneapolis band’s Facebook post announcing the politically charged sale concluded: “Fight back, bite back.”
