Best of
the Twin Cities
Andrew Broder is one of the most talented musicians in the Twin Cities, and his list of musical friends is equally as impressive. So when he announced a weekly residency at St. Paul’s Turf Club in January, fans took notice. In addition to a stellar roster of artists — including Low’s Alan Sparhawk, Poliça’s Channy Leaneagh, Har Mar Superstar, Kill the Vultures, Greg Grease, the Cloak Ox, and the hilariously named Broderjuana Deathsquads — the shows featured special, one-night-only collaborations and a rare Fog performance. The best part? Each night benefited a different local charity, with proceeds supporting the Confederation for Somali Community of MN, Climate Generation, Planned Parenthood, and Neighborhoods Organizing for Change. It was good music for an even greater cause, and it gave music lovers much-needed hope in the bleak winter months.
