Not only does El Primo boldly serve tacos in the open air almost all year round, they do it with some of the best service and lowest prices. (Prices rise as the thermometer’s mercury does, though it’s only by less than a dollar per taco.) This humble truck parked in a south Minneapolis K-Mart lot serves asada, cabeza, carnitas, lengua, chicharron, sesos, barbacoa, chorizo, al pastor, and suadero on rotating days. With so many options, it’s wise to just point at the guy eagerly scarfing his on the curb and say you’ll have what he’s having. Once you have your tacos, know that neither of the hot sauces, one red and one green, is to be underestimated. By which we mean grab a bottle in each hand and go for broke. It doesn’t pay to be eating tacos on the street if you’re not going to enjoy a fierce chile high while you do it.
