You can try clearing your head and holding your butt in the air just about anywhere. At Yess Yoga, they’re realizing that strength comes from within, sure. But also, that there are people hurting out there. That’s why the teachers at Yess are open to innovative and specialized classes, like a recent “trauma sensitive” workshop for survivors of sexual assault or other trauma. Yess also hosts “donation” classes, where 100 percent of proceeds get passed on to a good cause, like Planned Parenthood, the University of Minnesota’s Raptor Center bird rehab, and the American Civil Liberties Union. Now yoga practitioners can feel good and do good all at once.
