This Northeast store has only been open for a little over a year, but in that short time, the Golden Pearl has become any vintage devotee’s favorite. It’s got that classy, old-school department-store vibe: The jewel cases are from the dearly departed Neiman Marcus, and the rest of the store looks as if it were decorated by your fancy grandma in 1962 — in a good way! You’ll probably find a ’50s prom dress with a big scratchy tulle, but you’ll also find a chic Dayton’s Oval Room suit, or a flashy, gilded ’80s cocktail dress with clip-on earrings. Here, pieces of the past are fun and creative, not costumey and retro.
